About KCU's Commencement Ceremony

Kansas City University (KCU), founded in 1916, is one of the first osteopathic schools in the United States. This 106-year-old private, nonprofit graduate school has two locations: Kansas City and Joplin, Missouri. The 433 medical graduates from KCU's Class of 2022 are significant contributors to the physician workforce in Missouri and Kansas.

KCU has 48+ clubs and three intercollege athletic teams focusing on student life. To honor the Class of 2022 the commencement event was held at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City on May 7, 2022. However, the ceremony was held in Joplin at the MSSU Legget and Platt Athletic Center on May 8, 2022.

The event planned for Kansas City University was their commencement ceremony. The goal was to make the ceremony memorable for the graduates of The Class of 2022. The challenge was providing new experiences for the people involved so their families would not miss out on delightful moments. For this reason, KCU decided to host an engaging and memorable hybrid commencement ceremony that can be experienced by attendees in person as well as virtually.

The graduation ceremony was held at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City and MSSU Leggett and Platt Athletic Center in Joplin, Missouri.
